After you've put three mature plants into the treehole it will turn into a special theme-specific greenhouse scene. After the greenhouse appears, you'll be able to use sunlight to upgrade it. Do this by locating the golden button inside the greenhouse. Long press the button to use sunshine to upgrade the greenhouse!
